K-12 Art from Our Community

This summer and into the fall the Linda G. and Donald N. Zillman Gallery will be overflowing with exciting works of art from schools throughout the area. The works were chosen from the 2007 Art in the Heart Student Art Show at the Bangor Mall. Each year UMMA selects art from area schoolchildren to travel the state as part of the Museums by Mail program. In what has become a summer tradition, the museum highlights K-12 art by displaying a number of the many impressive works in our lobby before they travel the state. This summer, UMMA will fill the Zillman Gallery with one artwork each from 48 schools within a 70 miles radius of Bangor. Works include photographs, pastels, paintings, collages, and more! K-12 Art From Our Community is sure to be a fun and exhilarating show for all to appreciate.
